This document gives an overview of aspects to be covered when preparing for the external standards at Level 2.

It does not presume to be totally comprehensive, but if students are familiar with all the material, they should experience little difficulty when they sit the external standards (Aural and Materials of Music).

The columns on the right are intended for students to tick as they encounter each aspect throughout the year by studying music works, composing music or practising aural examples.

Many of the musical terms, signs, elements and features are exactly the same as for Level 1 and should merely be revision. They are, however, likely to be encountered in more sophisticated situations(or in larger scores)
